Phrok

Setup guides

Phrok works with any AI assistant that can add tools from a server address. You need a free Phrok account first: sign up.

Grok Bot

Phrok is built for Grok Bot and installs as a plugin.

  1. In Grok Bot, open the plugin marketplace and add Phrok.
  2. Tap Authenticate, log in to Phrok and tap Approve.
  3. Ask Grok to make a call. It checks the number and the goal with you before it dials.

Grok follows the plugin’s built-in instructions. For more control, paste the instructions below into Grok Bot.

Claude (web, desktop and mobile)

Add Phrok as a custom connector once; it then works in every chat on claude.ai, Claude Desktop and the Claude mobile apps.

  1. On claude.ai or in Claude Desktop, open Settings → Connectors.
  2. Click Add custom connector. Name it Phrok and paste the server URL below, then click Add.
  3. Click Connect, log in to Phrok and click Approve.
  4. In a chat, open the tools menu (+ or the sliders icon) and make sure Phrok is switched on. Then ask Claude to make a call.

Optional: paste the instructions below into a Project’s instructions, or into Settings → Profile → personal preferences.

On Team and Enterprise plans an owner may need to allow custom connectors first.

Claude Code

Add Phrok from your terminal. It is then available in every Claude Code session.

  1. Run the first command below. Add --scope user to use Phrok in all your projects.
  2. Start Claude Code, type /mcp, select phrok and choose Authenticate. Your browser opens; log in to Phrok and approve.
  3. Prefer an API key? Create one in the Phrok dashboard under Connect and use the second command instead (no browser sign-in needed).
  4. Ask Claude to make a call, e.g. “Call +49 30 1234567 and ask if they are open on Sunday.”
Copy
claude mcp add --transport http phrok https://api.phrok.us/mcp
Copy
claude mcp add --transport http phrok https://api.phrok.us/mcp --header "Authorization: Bearer vca_live_YOUR_KEY"

Optional: paste the instructions below into your CLAUDE.md so Claude always confirms before dialing.

ChatGPT

ChatGPT connects to Phrok through Developer mode, which is available on paid plans.

  1. Open Settings → Apps & Connectors → Advanced settings and turn on Developer mode.
  2. Back in Apps & Connectors, click Create. Name it Phrok, paste the server URL below, choose OAuth and confirm you trust the app.
  3. Click Create, then log in to Phrok and click Approve.
  4. In a new chat, open the + menu, choose Developer mode and switch on Phrok. ChatGPT asks you to confirm before each call is placed.

Optional: paste the instructions below into Settings → Personalization → Custom instructions.

On Business and Enterprise workspaces an admin may need to enable Developer mode. Connectors you add this way are only visible to you.

Meta Muse

Muse can create custom connectors from a chat message. Adding MCP servers this way works but is not officially documented by Meta yet, so treat it as experimental.

  1. In the Phrok dashboard, open Connect and create an API key just for Muse. You can revoke it any time.
  2. In Muse (Meta AI app or meta.ai), send the message below with your key filled in.
  3. Muse sets up the connector and stores the key in its secure credential store. Confirm when it asks.
  4. Ask Muse to make a call. If it does not see the Phrok tools, ask it to “list the tools in the Phrok connector”.
Copy
Create a custom connector called Phrok for my remote MCP server at https://api.phrok.us/mcp. Authenticate with the header "Authorization: Bearer vca_live_YOUR_KEY". Phrok places phone calls for me; always confirm the number and goal with me before calling.

Then send the instructions below as a follow-up message so Muse follows the same call routine.

If something stops working, revoke the key in Phrok and create a new one.

Call instructions for your assistant

These tell any assistant how to use Phrok safely: confirm with you before dialing, wait for the result and report back briefly.

Instructions for your assistant
You can place real phone calls for me using the Phrok phone tools. An AI voice agent makes the call, introduces itself as an AI assistant calling on my behalf, pursues the goal you give it, and reports back a transcript, summary and outcome.

TOOLS
- make_call(to, goal, context?, language?, max_minutes?): call now. `to` in E.164 (+971501234567); convert local formats and ask if the country is unclear. `goal`: 1-2 sentences. `context`: every fact the agent may use (names, dates, booking refs, acceptable alternatives) — it never invents anything else. `language`: "en", "de", "ar", ….
- schedule_call(..., scheduled_for): same at a future ISO-8601 time.
- get_call(call_id): status, transcript, summary, outcome. list_calls(), hangup_call(call_id), get_account() (minutes and credits left).

HOW TO RUN A CALL
1. Show me the number, goal, context and language and wait for my explicit "yes" before make_call/schedule_call.
2. After make_call wait ~20 s, then poll get_call every 15-20 s until completed / busy / no_answer / voicemail / failed / canceled.
3. Report in 2-4 lines: outcome, key facts (times, prices, confirmation numbers), anything I must do. Offer the transcript.
4. Busy or no answer: tell me and offer to retry later with schedule_call.

RULES
- Only call numbers I asked you to call. Never emergency or premium-rate numbers, or anyone who asked not to be called.
- Never ask the agent to pretend to be human, make payments, sign up for anything, or share personal data beyond the context.
- If a call is refused (policy error, out of minutes), tell me why and don't retry; if out of minutes, point me to Billing to upgrade or buy credits.
